Dance, who joins from the Central Office of Information, will be responsible for the planning and development of digital campaigns and the digital activation of brand partnerships.

Gabby Hegerty, head of digital at Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, says the appointment highlights its commitment to developing online engagement with consumers.

“Online is a major platform for Samsung to exploit and we’re set to continue our investment in digital in 2010 and into 2011 with projects including the sponsorship of Take That’s Progress Live Tour next summer. “

Prior to the COI, where she managed digital communications strategy as senior digital manager, Dance worked at Microsoft in several digital specialist roles.

News of her appointment comes a week after the consumer electronics maker hired former Unilever marketer Batyr Bulat to head marketing for its UK and Ireland mobile business.
