ABC introduces cross platform certificate

Magazine brands can now count their online user numbers alongside print circulation on ABC certificates.

ABC has launched the Cross Platform Certificate of Circulation to clarify how publishers can claim digital editions as part of their circulation figures.

It includes the circulation of digital editions of magazines designed for mobile devices such as Apple’s iPad.

The Cross Platform certificate applies to both consumer and trade titles and comes into effect from January 2011.

Jan Pitt, director of magazines at ABC says: “ABC is constantly looking to improve its reporting to make it easier for the industry. As more and more publishers are launching digital editions of their publication, it is crucial that we support the industry in promoting the growth of their digital offering.”
