New digital channels will fuel creation of digital marketing jobs, the recruiter says, while companies looking to better understand their customers will increase the need for research and customer insight jobs.

Marketing roles in the financial sector will be boosted as small, emerging financial services firms continue to expand and create marketing and communications teams.

Lynne Hardman, managing director of professional services at Badenoch & Clark, says: “Recruitment across all levels of marketing and communications is expected to grow in 2011. Having remained static for a couple of years, professionals will feel more confident to consider new opportunities as businesses recover and look to grow their marketing teams again”.

She adds: “Change communication and project communication will continue to be favoured skill sets. Advertising spend is also increasing as brands are keen to remain front of mind”.
