Sky+ readies iPad App launch

BSkyB has bolstered it’s mobile offering with the launch of an iPad app that allows customers to search and record their favourite programmes on the move.

The Sky+ App features a recommendation engine that suggests programmes to watch based on the show the user is currently watching or recording.

Other features include a highlights showcase section, where customers can find the most popular programmes of the day available on Sky TV, and a seven-day listings guide.

The move follows the launch of of Sky’s mobile TV app for the iPad in May which allows customers to watch TV on the go for a subscription.

The new app is the latest in Sky Mobile’s expanding offering of iOS applications which also includes the Sky Mobile TV App, Sky+ Remote Record for iPhone, the Sky News app, the Sky Sports Football Score Centre and the Sky Sports Cricket Score Centre.

More than 9 million Sky Mobile apps have been downloaded from the App Store, the broadcaster claims.
