Absolute Radio has launched a campaign on Apple’s iAd platform today (23 December) to push its Premier League commentary show.

The campaign for Absolute’s Rock n Roll football show is aimed at digitally-savvy football fans and has been timed to exploit the iPhone and iPod Touch devices received by football fans over Christmas. It will run until the end of the season.

The activity aims to involve users in a “playful demonstration of what happens when football and music collide”. The campaign was created in partnership with Albion.

Content includes a game where users must find Absolute presenter Ian Wright in a music festival field and a video of rock band Skunk Anansie trying to score penalties while playing their instruments.

Clive Dickens, chief operating officer at Absolute Radio, says the iAd platform allows the station to create engaging, highly targeted campaigns.

Renault, Stella Artois and deodorant brand Lynx have recently launched iAd campaigns.
