BT Vision take-up accelerates
BT saw 40,000 people sign up for broadband TV service BT Vision in the last three months of 2010, its highest subscription figures in two years.
In the previous three months it had 24,000 additions, bringing its total customer base to 545,000.
BT saw good growth in its broadband figures, with net additions of 188,000, the most in eight years.
The news comes as the company announced a 30% year-on-year hike in profits to £530m for the fourth quarter, although revenues dropped 3% to £5.04bn.
BSkyB also attributed its latest double-digit growth spurt to the speed of its broadband take-up. It recorded 204,000 net additions in the second quarter, up from 101,000 in 2009.
The satellite broadcaster reported a 15% rise in revenue to £3.19bn in its half-yearly results.
