Tourism Australia (TA) and Singapore Airlines are partnering for a national advertising campaign to encourage British holidaymakers to put the country high on their agenda of places to visit.

The campaign comes hot on the heels of the floods and storms that have devastated Queensland on Australia’s east coast. However, Singapore Airlines flies to cities outside the state, such as Perth and Melbourne.

There has been an outbreak of bush fires around Perth today (7 February) but the campaign is not being delayed.

Rodney Harrex, Tourism Australia regional general manager UK/Northern Europe says that, while 2020 was a tough year in travel visitor numbers from the UK were stable year on year and the campaign should keep up demand through 2011.

The 40 second TV ad uses TA’s ’There’s Nothing Like Australia’ global creative and runs until 6 March 2011.

Each execution highlights what is unique about an Aussie holiday, and showcases Singapore Airlines’ “highest quality comfort and style”. The ads direct consumers to find out more at www.australia.com/singaporeairlines or from their local travel agent.
