Di Como moves from his role as vice president of media for the Americas region following the departure of Laura Klauberg who leaves at the end of March.

He will be replaced by Rob Master, currently vice president of media for North America.

Babs Rangaiah, current vice president of global media communications planning will become head of global media innovation.

Rangaiah and Master will report into Di Como, who will report to Keith Weed, global chief marketing and communications officer.

Di Como commented, “I am delighted to be offered the chance to lead Unilever’s media development in what is a challenging, but exciting time. Unilever spent €5.6 billion on advertising and promotion in 2010 and I’m really looking forward to making that investment work harder for us in different and exciting ways.”

Earlier this year Unilever reported a 26% increase in full-year profit and an 11% rise in revenue.

The FMCG manufacturer has also appointed Paul Nevett to oversee its corporate brand strategy, and agency Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide to handle the global creative account to drive its corporate brand.
