O2 to join Take That Progress tour

O2 is set to be the official mobile network of Take That’s Progress Live 2011 tour, partnering with Samsung to offer exclusive gifts and content.

Customers purchasing Samsung’s Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Mini handsets on O2 pay monthly tariffs will receive a free Take That documentary DVD which includes exclusive content from the band’s latest single Kidz.

O2 customers will also be offered the opportunity to win tickets to the tour, the chance to meet the band and exclusive tour content.

The promotion will be supported by prominent in-store POS, advertising on the O2 website and experiential activity. The campaign will run for three months.

As the headline sponsor of the tour, Samsung has advertising and PR rights to all the tour’s imagery across digital, POS and tickets.

Samsung also has access to exclusive content and will integrate the brand into concert footage streaming and stadium branding.

The tour opens at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on 27 May and culminates at the Olympiastadion in Munich on 29 July.

Apple has revealed the iPad 2, which the company hopes will reinforce its position within the fledgling tablet market.
