The redesigned cover uses a 3D method, meaning, like the 3DS device, it can be viewed in 3D without the need for special glasses.

The magazine will also include a new “Connect” section which aims to strengthen engagement with its fan-base by publishing reader feedback from letters, emails, tweets and Facebook posts.

The Official Nintendo Magazine website has also undergone a redesign and the new version will include community features.

The magazine, priced at £3.99, will be available from 17 March in Tesco and WHSmith stores.

The Nintendo 3DS will launch in the UK and Europe on 25 March.

Entertainment retailer HMV is to partner with Nintendo for the official UK launch event.
