Royal Wedding charity gift website launched

Clarence House has partnered with BT to launch a new website for the public to send charitable gifts rather than physical presents for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.

The new charity fund aims to create a “legacy of community impact” from the Royal Wedding which takes place on 29 April this year.

Well-wishers can also send donations to the Royal Wedding Charity Fund by phone and text.

The technology for the donation service is hosted by BT and the company’s branding features on the official Charity Fund site.

The website allows the public to donate to five causes chosen by the couple. These are: conservation for future generations, help and care at home, changing lives through art and sport, children fulfilling their potential and support for services personnel and their familes.

BT has partnered with charities for more than 30 years and has provided telethon platforms for BBC’s Chidren in Need and DEC’s Pakistan appeal.

BT says it is committed to investing 1% of its UK pre-tax profits in community and environmental programmes every year.

The website was designed and built by digital marketing agency GGMR.
