According to Experian Hitwise, combined Bing and Yahoo traffic in February equated to 30.01% of total search share, a 5% month-on-month growth from 28.48%.
Both search engines grew individually. Bing was up from 13.49% to 14.32% – a 6% month-on-month growth rate, while Yahoo was up 5% from 14.99% to 15.69%.
In contrast, Google slipped 3% from 66.69% to 64.42%, although it still commands double the market share of its rivals.
Bing and Yahoo joined forces in July 2009 to compete more effectively against Google, with the deal seeing Bing power Yahoo’s search engine.
It was approved by both the European Commission and US Department of Justice in February last year, with US agencies and advertisers migrating onto the platform in the autumn.
