2012 Is on track

The Debate

Mark Ritson’s article contained a number of untruths and inaccuracies which need to be addressed. We have been very clear that 75% of the 8.8 million Olympic tickets will go on sale to the British public. That is 6.6 million tickets. Around a million of the remaining tickets go to international sports fans, who are also members of the public. The notion that Locog has “thought nothing about pre-selling half the tickets to the People’s Games to VIPs rather than allowing the public to have a fair chance of getting hold of them” is simply not true. As for a “ticketing fiasco” reader comments on your website [mwlinks.co.uk/Ritson2012tickets] speak for themselves and support a process that is on track and running to plan.
