MasterCard names top UK marketer

MasterCard has drafted in former LG marketing chief Paul Trueman to lead its UK and Ireland marketing team.

Trueman replaces Gill Barr, who left the payment services company in January to join the Co-Operative Group.

He will oversee business to business and direct to consumer marketing strategies, reporting directly to MasterCard’s UK and Ireland president, Hany Fam.

Trueman left LG Electronics’s UK and Ireland business earlier this month following a restructure that also led to the departure of head of brand marketing Paul Meadows. He has also had stints at Schweppes and Mars.

Fam says that Trueman’s experience at consumer facing brands will help it develop “new marketing propositions to surprise and delight consumers”.
