AmazonLocal is a location-based deals marketplace that claims to offer savings of 50% or more on services, products and experiences.

Users can register to receive daily deals e-mails or visit the site to see which offers are available that day. Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card customers can also earn points when they redeem a deal.

Businesses do not need to pay Amazon to run a promotion and only pay a referral fee for the customers they acquire.

AmazonLocal says on the website that it works with companies such as LivingSocial to feature businesses that are a good match for its customers.

The site is currently only available for the US city of Boise in Idaho.

Amazon was unable to comment about when the service could reach the UK.

Tesco, eBay and Google have all offered similar daily offer services in recent months.
