Sir Terry invested the amount alongside City analysts Iain McDonald and Bill Currie as the company looks to expand its headcount.

CEO Steve Rothwell says the company will use the investment to boost its retailer partners, which already include Aurora Fashions and Blockbuster.

Eagle Eye delivers coupons to mobile users and lets retailers track redemptions using chip-and-PIN payment systems.

The investment comes after Eagle Eye appointed Simon Burke, ex-CEO of Virgin Entertainment Group, as chairman and ex-AdMob VP Russell Buckley (who oversaw the ad network’s sale to Google for $750m), as chief marketing officer.
