Lastminute.com launches credit card and loyalty scheme

Lastminute.com, which has begun repositioning as a total lifestyle brand, is launching a credit card in partnership with MBNA and Mastercard.

The card has a “competitive” rewards programme and earns points on all purchases, combined with exclusive frequent offers on travel and lifestyle products.

It is hoped that it will build brand loyalty and repeat purchases on lastminute.com. If customers spend the qualifying amount, they can earn a welcome voucher worth £15 and will be eligible for lastminute.com loyalty points and a range of exclusive promotions. They will receive deals on restaurants, spas and other lifestyle experiences.

Commercial managing director at lastminute.com Fraser Robinson says: “As both a travel and a lifestyle brand, it makes sense for lastminute.com to provide customers with great rewards to help them make the most of their free time.”

The credit card has a representative rate of 18.9% APR variable.

Lastminute.com is focusing on experiences and helping customers have a story to tell in its new brand positioning. Its new advertising strapline is “Stories start here”.
