Groupon and Foursquare launch first deals

Groupon and Foursquare have launched their first joint deals since the companies formed a tie-up last month.

Foursquare users can now access Groupon’s discount coupons from within the former’s location-based mobile app in return for checking in to certain venues.

The location-based mobile check-in service revealed it would start distributing coupons for other group buying companies including Groupon and LivingSocial last month.

The move is part Groupon’s plan to increase its revenue streams.

The start-up company will take commission for every coupon that’s redeemed.
