Visit Wales campaign features Joanna Page and Kelly Jones

Visit Wales is launching a new campaign featuring actress Joanna Page from Gavin & Stacey and a host of other famous Welsh faces.

The “We want Piers Bramhall” campaign features a real Englishman whose adventure begins when he is woken up by Page and 50 Welsh male choristers and invited on a holiday in Wales.

Bramhall and his girlfriend will then be filmed on their holiday meeting famous Welsh faces such as chef Bryn Williams, former Liverpool Football Club player Ian Rush and Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones. Six television ads will be unveiled on 25 August showing what Piers will enjoy on his holiday.

A 40 second ad featuring highlights of the trip will launch in January next year with the aim of putting Wales at the forefront of mind for a holiday booking.

The campaign also includes social media activity and a website where anyone can film and upload their open invitations giving reasons why Piers should come to Wales. The campaign was created by Wieden & Kennedy and Kitcatt Nohr Digitas.

VisitBritain has just put its overseas pre-roll video campaign on bbc.com on hold following the riots in cities across England.
