Lawman, who has been with the Chevrolet since 2005 and was most recently product manager, will be responsible for the company’s entire marketing activity. She will supervise the recent ad campaign “Make it Happen”, which celebrates the brand’s centenary and focuses on the Chevy brand’s American values.

She will also oversee the launch of Chevrolet’s electric car, Volt, which is due to debut in the UK in 2012.

She replaces Turton, who was promoted to the role of head of marketing for Central and Eastern Europe in June.

The promotion comes as the General Motors-owned company prepares to launch its new Aveo supermini in October.
