O2 boosts O2 More team
O2 Media aims to bolster the multimedia capabilities of its mobile marketing programme O2 More with the appointment of Simon Voysey as its first creative solutions manager.
Voysey will work with agencies in a bid to bolster demand for the multimedia messaging services it offers to brands as part of its O2 More programme.
O2 Media hopes to promote how multimedia mobile messaging services, including video, can be used to supplement brands’ TV, press and outdoor campaigns.
Brands such as Nintendo, Unilever’s Dove and Foster’s are understood to have trialled O2 Media’s multimedia advertising services on mobile already.
In June this year the operator’s advertising arm recruited Kelly Wearmouth as head of content partnerships, from Microsoft’s MSN, to ramp up its multimedia offerings.
O2 Media has also drafted-in Gavin Emes as an account manager in its agency sales team from Mobi Media as part of its ongoing expansion drive.
The appointments come as O2 aims to significantly ramp up its mobile advertising efforts to achieve its goal of having 10 million of its customers opted-in to its O2 More service.
The operator officially announced that it had 2 million customers opted in to O2 More in March this year, although it is understood O2 is primed to make an updated announcement in the coming weeks.
