Cancer Research is currently reviewing its Race for Life fundraising events, as its 10-year sponsorship deal with Tesco is due to end later this year.

Before joining Vodafone as group chief marketing, officer Becker spent 15 years as a partner at consultancy firm McKinsey and is credited with building broadband provider TalkTalk in the UK.

She is also a non-executive director of Costa owner Whitbread.

Calcraft co-founded ad agency MCBD and earlier this year took over as chairman of digital agency Dare.

Anne Baldock a partner at global law firm Allen & Overy also joins the board.

The three appointees replace Dr Keith Palmer, Liz Hewitt and Leah Sowden, who are stepping down from the 12 strong board.

Michael Pragnell, chairman of Cancer Research UK says: “I’m delighted to welcome three new Trustees to our governing Council. They bring distinctive experience and success in the commercial sector that will be enormously valuable in guiding and supporting the Charity’s strategy and ambitions.”
