Sky marketing chief Robert Tansey switches to Sky Creative
Sky’s group brand marketing director Robert Tansey has moved into the new role of executive director at the broadcaster’s in-house creative agency.
Tansey will be responsible for strengthening the integration between Sky Creative and the rest of the business, particularly its content teams and Sky’s customer group, which oversees all product and brand marketing.
He will report into Sophie Turner Laing, Sky’s managing director of entertainment, news and broadcast operations.
In the past year Sky Creative has been responsible for redesigning the broadcaster’s entertainment channel portfolio and has produced TV campaigns for Sky properties including Boardwalk Empire and Mad Dogs.
Sky Creative also works with third party brands, through Sky’s advertising sales house, including clients such as Gillette, Ford, Blackberry and Panasonic.
Details about filling Tansey’s former position in the group brand marketing team “will be announced in due course”, Sky says.
Rival broadcaster ITV dropped its advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty this week in order to bring its off air marketing activity in-house, to be handled by the ITV Creative division. The unit is headed up by Rufus Radcliffe, group marketing and research director.
