Paddy Power takes aim at chavs

Paddy Power is continuing in what appears to be a quest to offend as many people it possibly can with its latest online campaign, “Chav Tranquiliser”.

The bookmaker’s latest ad, which sees an everyman taking aim at the orange, the vajazzled and the generally uncouth at the Cheltenham Festival, comes a day after Channel 4 and BSkyB pulled one of its ads that asked viewers to spot the which one of the several women featured were “transgendered” after hundreds of complaints.

Lest we forget the 2010 ad that attracted more than 1,300 complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority over images of a blind footballer kicking a cat.
