The seven-part series, dubbed “The Exclusives”, will feature Bauer brands including Heat, Kerrang, Empire, FHM, Closer and More heavily as the trainees hone their skills in a bid to secure a 12-month journalism contract.

Bauer Media will also promote the show across its magazine, online and radio portfolios.

The media owner estimates the programme and related coverage will reach an audience of more than 19 million UK adults.

The series will be made by Twofour, the production house behind Educating Essex and the advertiser funded programme E.on’s Future Family, which is also due to air later this year.

The show is in line with ITV’s strategy to drive more revenues from partnerships amongst other areas such as digital and selling programmes internationally, as part of it’s five year transformation plan set out in 2010.
