‘Marketers are the UK’s happiest office workers’

Marketing professionals are the happiest office workers in the UK and are less likely to fall out with their colleagues, according to a new study commissioned by Mars Drinks UK.


The study is based on responses from more than 2000 male and female office workers from sectors including marketing, creative, legal, finance and IT.

It found that 60% of the polled marketers were happy where they worked, while only 2% insisted they hated their current job.

Additionally, the research revealed that marketing professionals are on average more likely to get along with their co-workers, with only 0.67 conflicts occurring in a typical day, compared to the average office worker who has disagreements with their colleagues 1.06 times daily.

Jenni Morgan, trade marketing manager for Mars Drinks UK, who commissioned the study says: “Our results also show that we are working longer hours than ever before but this has not dented our enjoyment of the job.”

Marketers spend a total of ten minutes and 56 seconds of their daily office time checking Facebook and Twitter, compared to the national average of eight minutes, while nine minutes and nine seconds is spent reading personal emails, two minutes more than the national average.
