BBC1 names new head of marketing

The BBC has named former Asos head of strategy Lindsay Nuttall as the new head of marketing for BBC One and Drama, just as the corporation’s lead marketer is set to leave.

BBC1

At Asos, Nuttall led the fashion retailer’s global strategy and communications team. Prior to joining Asos, she was MySpace’s international marketing director.
Nuttall has previously worked on BBC Two and Four as well as with Channel 4 on the launch of youth network E4 and programmes such as Skins.

Her experience in digital and social media is expected to play a key role in BBC One’s coverage of both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympics.

Cary Wakefield, brand director of BBC Vision, says: “I’m delighted to welcome Lindsay back to BBC in such a momentous year when her reputation for outstanding creativity combined with her experience in engaging audiences through digital and social media will be invaluable in bringing our audiences even closer to BBC One.”

The BBC’s director of marketing and audiences Helen Normoyle has recently revealed that she is to leave the broadcaster to join DFS as its first CMO. Normolye will be replaced directly.
