Strurridge is joined by Spanish international Iker Casillas, Germany’s Lukas Podolski, Italy’s Giuseppe Rossi and France and Real Madrid star Karim Benzema in “Team Hyundai”.

The car marque is a top tier partner of European football’s governing body UEFA and has sponsored the European Championships since 2000.

A charitable initiative has also been launched that will see €1 donated to “supporting young people and players to realise their ambitions” every time one of the footballers is “liked” on the Team Hyundai Facebook page.

Further details of what the €250,000 the company is hoping to raise through the initiative will be announced ahead of the June tournament, Hyundai says.
