Duracell Bunny finds his voice

The Duracell bunny has been given a voice for the first time 39 years after it was first introduced in the brand’s marketing.

The character, known as Bunny, will take control of Duracell’s Facebook page from tomorrow (3 April).

He will regularly interact and engage with the brand’s fans through Q&As, tips and competitions. It is the first time that owner Procter & Gamble has sought to present the bunny character’s personality beyond his endurance and longer lasting power.

The first Duracell Bunny ad launched in 1973 to demonstrate that Duracell batteries lasted much longer than rival products. The first TV ad featuring the bunny aired in 1974.

In 2009 the bunny become CGI after previously being a battery powered toy.
