Müller names new marketing chief

Müller Dairy has appointed Michael Inpong to lead its marketing team in the UK, a move that follows the company’s announcement to launch a £30m marketing strategy for its brands including Müllerlight and Vitality.

Wonderful Stuff Muller

Inpong, who joins the company next week (30 April), will be charged with driving growth across its chilled yoghurt and pot dessert brands.

The strategy will be the follow-up to last year’s £20m ‘Wonderful Stuff’ marketing campaign, which featured cartoon characters including Dick Dastardly, the Mr Men and Yogi Bear.

The campaign marked a radical shift from previous executions as it sought to attract new audiences. It was pulled from TV screens in December after Müller said it would be returning to a more conventional form of advertising.

The company has announced that is developing a £30m marketing programme for its “chilled Yogurt & Pot Dessert brand portfolio.”

Müller declined to comment on details of the new marketing strategy.

Inpong replaces Lee Ralston who left the company last year amid a senior management overhaul. UK CEO Gharry Eccles also departed the company as part of the shake-up.

He joins from Nestlé’s chilled dairy divsion where he was marketing director. Prior to this Inpong held a variety of marketing roles at Prcoter & Gamble.
