Snowball, who is a judge for the Marketing Week Engage Awards 2012, is group chairman and group chief executive of AMV BBDO and succeeds Andrew McGuiness at the AA.

The AA represents all sides of the advertising and promotion industry in the UK, taking in advertisers, agencies and the media. It has a remit to promote the consumer and commercial benefits of advertising and, together with other industry bodies, it has been addressing regulatory issues such as those raised by the Bailey review on advertising to children.

Snowball will work with Tim Lefroy, the AA’s chief executive, and its president Gavin Patterson, director of the BT Group and chief executive of BT Retail, to help grow support across the industry and build the AA’s influence with Government and opinion formers.

She says: “The AA has begun an important transformation, in line with the step change we are seeing in the issues and opportunities across advertising. We have an ambitious AA team, energetic support from practitioners and a sharpened narrative as to why advertising matters. My job work is to build on that good work and bring fresh momentum to the case for our industry.”
