The “Home Advantage” campaign targets friends and families of athletes and ex-pats and includes a competition to win flights and tickets to the Games to help boost home support.

The “Flying Britain Home” promotion to win tickets for friends and family living abroad will begin on Facebook on Friday (1 June). Flights from 20 selected destinations around the world will be promoted with 12 tickets per flight to be given away.

The airline is also offering 50 free flights to friends and family of Team GB and Paralympics GB athletes.

The destinations include former Olympics host cities and countries with sizeable ex-pat populations, including Cape Town, Sydney and Hong Kong.

The digital activity will also include a short film, featuring athletes and experts, such as former Olympian Denise Lewis (pictured), talking about the value of home advantage.

Luisa Fernandez, BA manager of the homecoming campaign, says: “This is the start of our campaign to get the country behind our athletes and give them an extra boost.”

BA is the official airline partner of Team GB and Paralympics GB. During the games it will host ‘Park Live’ at the Olympic Park. It offers a place for fans to go before or after watching an event, is equipped with large screens to watch the action and can accommodate 10,000 people.
