Kallo Foods marketing director Elaine Underwood is leaving the business as part of senior management shake-up at parent group Wessanen UK following its acquistion of fairtrade tea brand Clipper Teas.

Underwood will leave the company at the end of August and be replaced by Clipper Teas’ marketing and commercial director Gill Hesketh. Hesketh will take on an expanded role, overseeing marketing activity for all of Wessanen’s product portfolio in the UK.

Prior to joining Clipper Teas in 2007 she was global marketing manager at Bacardi.

Additionally, Kallo Foods commercial director Alan Bird has been promoted to an expanded role across the group. He joined last year from Premier Foods and has also held senior roles at Britvic, Interbrew and Kettle Foods.

The reshuffle comes as Kallo Foods prepares to launch its first TV advertising campaign this autumn using its revamped ‘Thought for Food’ brand positioning. Underwood, who has been at the company since 2009, spearheaded the brand overhaul last year, which included a new logo and a greater focus on its rice products.
