VisitBritain’s Bresh to join STA Travel
VisitBritain’s top marketer Laurence Bresh is to leave the national tourism body after 11 years to join STA Travel.
Bresh will leave next month to take on the role of marketing and online director for the travel agency’s northern European and African operations.
He has, however, only been hired on an interim basis providing maternity cover for Natalie Placko. He will report directly to commercial director Glen Mintrim.
Earlier this month, VisitBritain launched a three-pronged marketing strategy to exploit interest in Britain following the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Bresh is the second senior marketer to join STA this year. It hired the Co-operative’s Julian Baker as its first group marketing director in June with a remit to develop the brand globally across all its territories.
