The retailer is inviting customers to donate their children’s unwanted toys to the charity in the run up to Christmas.

Barnardo’s will sell the donated toys to raise funds for its work helping underprivileged children in the UK.

Customers that donate toys to the campaign will receive a £5 Argos voucher to redeem against purchases of new toys.

Argos claims that the average family home has more than 80 toys, but two thirds are not played with regularly, which means 474 million unused toys in the UK.

Activity, which marks the start of Argos’ Christmas campaign, includes a TV ad and a Facebook app.
