He takes on commercial duties for the group’s Avis and Budget brands in the territories. He will join at the end of November.
Warfield left his position as vice-president of family care at Kimberley Clark, where he led UK and Irish strategy for brands such as Andrex and Kleenex, in September.
The former Unilever marketer joined Kimberly Clark as managing director of the UK and Ireland business in 2006. He was three years on the role before taking on the family care portfolio in 2009.
Prior to Kimberley-Clark, he spent 11 years at Unilever in several senior marketing positions including customer development director for both the UK and globally.
In a statement, Avis Budget says Warfield’s multi-channel, e-commerce and social media experience will help support its “regional ambitions”.
Warfield is also a mentor for The Marketing Academy, the mentoring and coaching organisation supported by Marketing Week.
