Kimberly-Clark marketing director for Andrex and Kleenex Jon White is to leave the company as part of a restructure of the Fmcg company’s marketing setup designed to reflect its focus on growth products and markets.

It is not known if White, who has held a series of director level roles since joining in 1992 – most recently for bath and toilet brands – has a job to go to. He will leave mid-February. White is currently chairman of ISBA, the body which represents British advertisers.

News of his exit comes as the company unveils a raft of new appointments (see box). Chief among them is Andy Pawson, who has been named vice president with overall responsibility for development of all European brands, stepping up from his director for European strategic development role.

Kimberly-Clark announced its intention to focus efforts on its strongest markets and growth opportunities in October when it announced it was pulling the Huggies nappy brand from the UK and European market. Budget will be shifted to Huggies sub-brands Pull-Ups, DryNites and Little Swimmer’s as well as tissue brands Kleenex and Andrex.

Kim Underhill, president of Kimberly-Clark’s consumer business in Europe, says: “The changes to our marketing and innovation organisation will enable a greater focus for growth in the facials, toilet tissue and the baby and childcare categories and allow for greater synergy with our global marketing organisation.”

Other key personnel changes:

Cristina Garcia, currently European marketing manager for diapers has been named European category lead for childcare and wipes.

Karel Van Der Mandele joins as European category lead for rolled tissue brands from consulting firm Booz and Company.

Christine Mau, currently design director for tissue brands globally, is named as European design director.

Andy Kistler, interim head of European brands, is to leave.
