Pret appoints Green & Black’s marketer

Former Green & Black’s marketer Mark Palmer has joined sandwich chain Pret a Manger to head up marketing.

As marketing director for the chain, Palmer will be responsible for the businesses marketing and advertising including local and national activity, digital, in-store and CSR strategy.

Palmer previously worked with Pret a Manger as a consultant. He has also worked with brands including Union Hand Roasted Coffee, Valeo Foods, apple juice brand Cawston Press and natural cosmetic firm First Natural Brands, which owns the Barefoot brand.

Pret’s marketing team was previously headed up on an interim basis by Mark McCulloch, former vice president of marketing for music streaming service We7.

At Green & Black’s, Palmer was part of the senior management team that oversaw the sale of the business to Cadbury in 2005. After six years as marketing director, he took on a part time non executive role at the brand, which comes to an end later this year.

He has also previously headed up youth and UK marketing at Burger King.
