Virgin Media names Jeff Dodds as CMO

Virgin Media has named brand director Jeff Dodds to succeed Nigel Gilbert as its chief marketing officer following the latter’s promotion to a new unspecified role in the Virgin group.

Jeff Dodd’s will assume marketing responsibilities for all the brand’s marketing including its broadband service.

Dodds assumes full oversight of the media company’s marketing strategies after previously heading up the day-to-day running of the company’s marketing team as executive director of brand and marketing. Dodds joined the business in 2009 and prior to that held senior roles at Callaway Golf and Honda.

He becomes the brand’s second CMO following the appointment of Gilbert to the newly created role in 2010. Gilbert, who has been promoted to a role at Virgin Management group, led an overhaul of Virgin Media’s marketing offering just months after joining by bringing together its customer insight team alongside its brand and marketing teams.

His new role will be announced in due course, according to a statement. Both Virgin Media and Management declined on any further details of the role.
