Golden Wonder taunts Walkers over crisp packet colours

Golden Wonder is taking a cheeky swipe at rivals such as Walkers with a national campaign calling for cheese & onion crisps to be sold in green packets and salt & vinegar in blue.

Golden Wonder is urging snackers to get behind the move by signing an online petition.

The snack brand is calling for an “amnesty” across all major cities to encourage people to switch one packet of “wrongly” coloured crisps for green bags of Golden Wonder.

Consumers are also being urged to voice their agreement with the hashtag #CrispArmy as well as sign an online petition demanding change.

Golden Wonder’s marketing director Scott Guthrie claims “this is the most emotive topic” and aims to question public conceptions about crisps.

He adds: “Cheese and Onion comes out of a green bag – it’s a fact of life, it’s just the way things should be.”

The activity comes just weeks after the business said it had seen a sharp interest in its brand following Walkers decision to add meat to its previously vegetarian friendly bacon and chicken flavoured crisps
