Ocado loses marketing chief to Asos
Ocado has lost its most senior marketer, Matthew Knight, to Asos.
Knight joins Asos as as head of CRM and takes responsibility for the retailer’s global strategy for engaging, converting and retaining customers through email, CRM, DM, social media and mobile marketing.
He will also be tasked with leveraging the brand’s global consumer insights to better understand its shoppers.
Knight joined Ocado in 2010 as head of marketing, insight and communication – the online supermarket’s first head of marketing in more than two years. He has been replaced by former Ocado head of merchandising and trading insight Thomas Thomaidis who takes on a newly created role of head of marketing and grocery insight.
Prior to joining Asos, Knight spent eight years at loyalty firm Aimia, which owns Nectar.
Ocado recently launched a campaign designed to highlight its differences from other supermarkets.
Meanwhile, Asos has also promoted Reena Prashar to the newly created role of digital head of strategy and product, responsible for developing new digital products to drive online customer experience.
