Myvouchercodes first voucher site to offer Facebook fans discounts

Myvouchercodes.co.uk is offering Facebook fans additional exclusive discounts, in an effort to differentiate itself in the fiercely competitive vouchers market.

The site claims to be the first voucher code site to launch a promotional tool of this kind for social media fans.

Each offer will run for one week only allowing retailers to offer additional discounts to Facebook fans.

Fans are then encouraged to share the deal with their friends through the network. Myvouchercodes claims its 200,000 Facebook fans have a total reach of 39 million Facebook users.

Marks & Spencer is the first retail brand to adopt the tool offing social fans 20 per cent off every spend of £25 with its M&S Outlet store.

Non-fans attempting to access the deal will be met with a branded ‘gate’ outlining the offer and how they can take advantage of the promotion by becoming a fan on Facebook.
The Fan Exclusive promotions will also be promoted to Myvouchercodes users through email and digital activity.

Mark Pearson, founder of Myvouchercodes, says: “Social media is an area many businesses struggle to monetise, even with relatively large audiences. Social commerce has, very quickly, become a good revenue stream for us; however, we want to go one step further and offer our fans something especially for them.”

Myvouchercodes made sales of more than £600m in 2011 and claims to have saved shoppers more than £60m on online purchases throughout the year.
