Diet Coke and Tesco in crowdsourcing tie-up

Diet Coke is stationing a fleet of photo booths at Tesco stores to give consumers the chance to feature in the drink brand’s 30th anniversary celebratory marketing.

The photo booths are visiting 10 Tesco supermarkets and will feature backdrops based on brand ambassador Marc Jacobs’ previous bow, swallows and polka dot designs from the past three decades.

Those using the photo booth will receive a print out and get the chance to feature in a 30th anniversary mosaic of the “Diet Coke hunk” hosted on the drink brand’s Facebook page, which will allow users to zoom in to view their image.

Diet Coke will also invite Tesco customers to upload their photos on Tesco.com for the chance to feature on special 30 year celebration packs available exclusively in Tesco stores.

David Wood, Tesco UK marketing director, says: “Our customers love to engage in theatre both in-store and online, so we are delighted to partner with Diet Coke on this unique customer opportunity. Mosaic’s in-store photo booths will certainly add some fun to the shopping trip.”
