He replaces Benoit Testard in the role and will be responsible for all United Biscuits’ brands, such as McVitie’s and Jacobs, globally when he joins the company in May. It is not known whether Testard has a job to go to.
Glenn announced in January he was to step away from his chief executive role at Birds Eye owner Iglo Group after six years at the company.
He was responsible for growing the Birds Eye brand in Europe and was credited with orchestrating the frozen food manufacturer’s efforts to change consumer perceptions of the category by promoting the convenience and quality of its products through marketing.
The investment firm that owns Iglo Group, Permira, acquired the company from Unilver in 2006 and poached Glenn from PepsiCo, where he was chief executive of its snack business. He was previously marketing director for Walkers.
Glenn has also held marketing roles at Mars Petcare and Cadbury.
