Marketing Week Live 2013 to feature career development zone
Marketing Week Live is to launch a new Career Development zone focused on meeting the career development needs of marketing professionals at the event this June.
The zone will provide visitors with free practical guidance from career development agencies, training course lecturers, professional bodies and life coaches.
Resources in the zone include workshops and one-to-one advice sessions with sector experts including Econsultancy; the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and MMC Learning.
CIM’sMarketing Strategy Clinic is aimed at helping marketers review their marketing strategy with a focus on options that will drive growth.
The ability to benchmark personal skills against peers is available from Econsultancy, which will be running a Digital Talent Challenge with its digital skills assessor technology. Visitors to the show can use the technology to assess their skills in six areas of digital; display marketing, mobile marketing, SEO, social media, email marketing and web analytics.
“Demands on marketers have never been greater, and it’s such a challenge just to keep up with the latest innovations, trends and practices,” says Paul MacDonald, director of Marketing Week Live.
“But more than this, marketers are hugely ambitious so as well as helping marketers keep on top of the changing industry, we wanted to give them the opportunity to develop their own skills and knowledge to help them take that all important next step in their career,” he adds.
