Primark launches first ecommerce operation via Asos

Primark has launched its first ecommerce operation through a partnership with online retailer Asos.

Primark

Primark launches online through Asos Marketplace.

It is the first time that the value retailer’s fashion ranges will be available anywhere except its stores.

Primark has famously steered clear of launching an online shopping channel due to the associated costs and the impact this would have on its prices.

Currently 20 items including dresses, jeans and jackets, ranging from £6 to £22, are available on Asos.com’s Marketplace. It is not known if the range will be extended.

Asos’s website states: “Retail phenomenon Primark joins ASOS as part of our round up of great British high street brands. With their unique take on the latest must-haves and newest trends, Primark fans can get their hands on their award-winning affordable fashion, from skinny jeans and denim to skater dresses and printed t-shirts.”

Other brands on the Maretplace inlcude; high street and designer brands such as Oasis, Topshop and Stella McCartney.
