Ray Winstone in cancer awareness push for Father’s Day

Hollywood actor Ray Winstone has teamed up with Prostate Cancer UK to star in a Father’s Day awareness push, one of a raft of campaigns to launch this weekend to celebrate the event.

The Sweeney star will appear alongside Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance and fellow brits Tamzin Outhwaite and John Simm in a short-film that will run this weekend. It is part of ITV’s “Stand by Your Man” campaign which aims to raise awareness of the disease.

Meanwhile, Unilever has launched an online video for its Dove Men+Care brand. It follows a father and son as they build a go-kart together with the former’s face getting dirtier throughout various stages. It ends with the father using Dove products to clean himself and uses the strapline ‘He puts his face through a lot for the people he loves. Give him a little extra care this Father’s Day’.

The TMW created video, produced by Coast, highlights findings from a study to find out what top ‘life lessons’ sons and daughters value from learning from their fathers most.

Heinz is also running a Father’s Day campaign where Facebook fans can win personalised HP Sauce bottles.
