Edge has led Facebook’s business marketing efforts in the region for more than two years. He has focused on engaging marketers from brands and agencies through direct relationships, events, thought leadership materials, sponsorships and speaking opportunities to create scaleable advertising programmes on the platform.

He previously worked at Havas Worldwide, where he was director of communications, and Draftfcb where he was vice president and associate director of corporate communications.

Facebook is seeking a director-level replacement for the role.

Edge’s departure follows the exits of two of the UK office’s other most senior marketer and agency contacts – Christian Hernandez and Stephen Haines – last month.

Hernandez is “leaving to pursue an exciting new venture in the entrepreneurial world”, while Haines is moving to the social network’s New York office to become global lead for Facebook’s Omnicom network relationship.  Haines followed fellow Britons Trevor Johnson and James Chadwick in moving to from Facebook UK to its US offices to lead its agency network relationships.

Facebook is also currently seeking a replacement for Haines, who was UK commercial director.

The new recruits at the EMEA base will be led by former Karmarama executive chairman Nicola Mendelsohn who become Facebook’s vice president for Europe last month.
