Heinz is looking to accelerate the growth of its brands across Europe.

The appointment sees Jepson assume oversight of the company’s pan-European marketing strategy in addition to his current role. He will help manage a $120m (£77.9m) business plan, unveiled earlier this year, to boost the company’s innovation pipeline to quicker to customer needs and reduce costs.

Part of the Heinz marketing strategy for 2013 is to ensure fast collaboration across the globe and to cascade strong local brands to other regions.

Jepson’s promotion is part of a global reshuffle at Heinz, which also sees chief customer officer of the company’s UK business Phil Jones become its managing director. He fills a role vacated by Matt Hill last month (20 June) following his promotion to president for Heinz Europe. The shake-up has also seen 10 other new appointments and the departure of 11 executives.

It follows the completion of Berkshire Hathaway and 3G Capital’s $28bn (£18.2bn) acquisition of the company last month.
