Bush will be responsible for building the Pinterest community of brands, partners and users in the UK across categories such as food, fashion, art and consumer goods. Pinterest does not currently have an advertising product but it is likely the site would introduce ad units once it grows its userbase to a reasonable size.
Pinterest says more than one million pins are placed on the site in the UK daily and more than 60 per cent of its visitors in the region come back weekly. The company first launched its British English language setting and a localised version of the website and mobile apps in May to make UK content more prominent to local users.
Bush will be responsible for marketing outreach in the UK, following on from the “Pin it Forward” campaign it launched earlier this year with hundreds of local bloggers, sharing boards and stories about what inspired them. She will report into Matt Crystal, head of international.
She joins from pre-owned luxury fashion website Vestiaire Collective, where she was UK country manager.
Prior to that she served as senior director at e-commerce site ShopStyle by PopSugar, where she managed European marketing, business development and editorial.
Before joining PopSugar in 2010, she held several product and marketing roles at Microsoft and Amazon. She started her career at Vodafone, in editorial roles for its Vodafone Live service.
